Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles

The New York Times Bestselling Serial

Just when it seemed the book had closed on the Spiderwick Chronicles, a new chapter begins far from the old-fashioned charm of New England. Under the hot Florida sun, Nick Vargas and his annoying new stepsister, Laurie, stumble upon the faerie world. A nixie asks for their help to save her sisters and before they know it, Nick and Laurie are outrunning giants, negotiating with mermaids, and battling a monster that’s bigger than they’d ever imagined! Along with Nick’s brother, Jules, and some familiar faces, the kids find themselves in a race to save not only themselves, but all of Florida!

Praise

"For those who have never read a Spiderwick story before, Nixie’s Song makes a perfect jumping-on point. And for those who have been with the Grace kids from the very beginning, you’ll be happy to know that the adventures do continue, and in a very big way."
The Trades

“Plentifully illustrated with wonderful drawings, The Wrym King by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black is a dazzling capper to the series, complete with a twist-and-turn plot, crazy scrapes with wild solutions, and an easily digested theme about the way humans can interfere with the environment to the detriment of all, even when they believe they're being helpful. The family issues strike a note of reality with which many readers can identify, and the fantasy and adventure are imaginative and enjoyable.”
Kidsreads

“But as always, The Wyrm King is a treat, packed full of maps, supplementary material, and Tony DiTerlizzi’s gorgeous illustrations. Some aspects of the plot are a bit wonky yet The Wyrm King is ultimately a satisfying conclusion to an innovative series that harks back to the darker side of fairytales. I hope Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi have more to come.”
Fantasy Literature

“The illustrations are as charming as always, and the text zips along; Black manages to carefully balance the terror of having a dirt giant threaten your house and the equally horrible prospect of having to share a bedroom with a girl.”

Never Abandon Imagination Tony DiTerlizzi: Never abandon imagination.

Imagination is a world of possibility that exists within each of us. It is what makes us uniquely human. It is our creative fingerprint that touches and influences the world around us. Imagination is essential to art and science; to innovation and prosperity. It gives us hope, calls us to action and leads to change.

Whether it’s fairies, dragons, robots or aliens, all of my children’s book characters are siblings born of my imagination – an imagination strengthened through years of encouragement from family, teachers and friends. While so many others abandoned it during their transition from childhood to adulthood, I fiercely held onto mine, hoping for a day when I could share it to inspire the next generation of dreamers. Innovators. World changers.

Imagination empowers us to envision and create a reality of what could be. We must hold it dear, foster it and never abandon it.
